Madden NFL 16 is an American football sports video game grounded on the National Football League and release by EA Sports for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The game was released on August 25, 2015.

This game always adds lot of features into their new edition, and this one is no different. The best addition this years - is the new Draft Champions mode. Comparable to the likes of Arena mode in Hearthstone, this tells players given a base team of ordinary players. From there they must go through a quick, 15 round draft, with three options existing each round.

The game have 15 upgrades from where you have to choose without knowing what’s coming up, players have to adapt the gameplan on the fly. It’s a tremendous fun game when you’re looking to have a jam without any real investment and a great party-mode game type, but it lacks any kind of way to pull players back over the next year.

Centered on how you go, you will reveal rewards which can be used in Ultimate Team. The rewards are better for those games against real people. Rewards will helpful to make a Ultimate Team. Another drawback is that you’re not able to play against friends. You can choose random matchmaking against real people or the computer.

EA introduces a new feature called Dynamic Drive Goals in Franchise mode. This tells random requirements placed onto your offense or defense almost every drive. Some are okay, such as gaining X amount of yards on offense, or holding a team to a three-and-out; others are head scratchers, like requiring you to score a passing TD when you’ve been running the ball strongly all game. Some are ridiculous, including forcing you to get a certain amount of tackles with a cornerback or a forced fumble with a specific player. If you don’t achieve the goal, your players suffer a penalty to their confidence, ability, and XP used to upgrade their skills.

Passing system become significantly more detailed this year, it also give players greater control over where the ball is placed when a pass is made. Exact button combos are necessary for throwing a ball high or low and behind a receiver as well as previously established lob, bullet and touch passing systems.

These relate with a new receiver mechanic as well, which understands the player able to choose a specific catch type for each pass. The second option is yards after catch, which has the WR attempt to catch the ball in pace and turn upfield. Lastly, there’s a controlled catch, which will see them armor the ball with their body and take contact or go to ground. Each pass and catch is valuable in specific moments with specific players, and hardcore football fans will love this addition.

Upgrades are also added for Corners as well, with much enhanced AI and options when playing the ball. Players can still compete for the ball in the air - which has a far bigger risk/reward to it this season - or they can make a play on the receiver as they catch the ball, trying to knock it away or hit the stuffing out of them so they lose possession, as we see on the field in most games.

The work for actual gameplay which has been carried out is particularly bright light for those who sensed the same problems had occurred for many years. Like different receivers feel like different players - you can notice the change between Andre Johnson, Alshon Jeffrey, and Wes Welker.

Conclusion
Though Madden 16 does have some massive problems such as franchise-crippling bug which sees players randomly revert in their attributes for no reason, it is nothing that can’t be repaired, and nowhere near the extensive problems of nano-blitzing or corner routes which have spoiled the game like in earlier years. The on-field gameplay is outstanding, finest it’s ever been. It feels and a play like football and it’s the outcome of years of incremental developments. It’s always good to say “best Madden game ever” in terms of the gameplay mechanics.
